My passion assisting new mothers prepare for birth and adjust to changes that new babies bring had its own birth after my eldest son was born in 2004. I found that I enjoyed supporting other new mothers on this journey, by providing the resources and information they needed. In 2008 I made my passion my profession, when I started working as a WIC peer counselor at the Burlington County WIC. I gained experience working with expectant mothers teaching breastfeeding education classes.
In addition to the hands-on experience, I continued to advance my training. I was trained as a postpartum doula with DONA (2011), as a birth doula (2013), and as a childbirth educator (2014) with CAPPA. In 2018 I completed my Certified Breastfeeding Specialist training.
Working with families as a birth and postpartum doula and through providing childbirth education has been a very rewarding experience as I work to fulfill the needs of all of my clients by responding to their individual circumstances and wishes. In addition to raising three boys, I am a Breastfeeding Counselor with Breastfeeding USA.
In 2009, I completed my Masters in Education in Counseling Psychology and I have worked as a counselor with individuals, couples, children, and families. When I became pregnant with my first child in 2010, I became very passionate about pregnancy, birth, and parenting and knew that I would dedicate my career to serving and supporting new families as a counselor, educator, doula, and birthworker.
I am a Pre-Certified Labor and Postpartum Doula with ProDoula and a trained Childbirth Educator with CAPPA.
